Free Yoga Classes In Singapore To Kickstart Your Yoga Journey

profileRachel Yeo

Keeping fit and healthy doesn’t have to be expensive.

For us corporate slaves,  there’s always a need for a period of zen after a long, hectic day at work.

For some, that involves sweating it out at an adrenaline-pumping floorball or soccer session.

For others, this means stretching out on a yoga mat with relaxing music and aromatic oils in the backdrop.

For those working in the CBD, yoga studios are expensive and can cost up to $30 a session.

Though few, there are always affordable and convenient alternatives in Singapore. What if I told you that you can attend yoga lessons at boutique yoga studios for free?

3. Free Fitness And Yoga Events On MeetUp

Source: Meetup.com

Meetup.com offers a one-stop platform for sports and exercise groups. If you look through the site, you may be able to find a few groups that conduct free yoga lessons, especially pop up yoga, and yoga in the park sessions.

Do note though, that groups such as Raintr33 Hotel Singapore charge $25 a session for their Sunset Yoga classes, so be sure to check out the description before signing up on their site.

4. Free Vinyasa Yoga Classes At ShopBack

Source: ShopBack Yoga Group

Ok, I cheated a little here.

ShopBack’s weekly yoga classes aren’t exactly open to the public, but those working around the area sometimes join us for our weekly sessions.

Roxane (a ShopBacker and our residen t yoga instructor) teaches vinyasa yoga in ShopBack, weekly on Tuesday evenings.

(Sorry, classes are only open for ShopBackers!)

That said, there are other companies and start-ups who host regular yoga sessions as well.

So instead of buying expensive yoga packages, why not leverage on what you already have?

If you’re training to be a yoga instructor, why not make your workplace a better one by initiating weekly yoga sessions!

5. Lululemon Community Yoga Classes

Source: Lululemon Singapore | Facebook

Lululemon conducts several free community classes in its stores and partner studios every week.

The classes vary from yoga, to meditation, barre, and HIIT classes.

To attend, simply RSVP via the Eventbrite links on their Facebook page as soon as they launch their events.

However, do note that for their community classes, you will have to bring your own mat!

ION and Takashimaya stores offer classes mainly on Sunday morning, between 8am to 9.30 am.

You are encouraged to arrive 30 minutes before the class starts. Registration usually commences at 8am.
