Grab Singapore vs Airasia Dine-in Services: Promotions, Discounts, Cuisines & More

Essentially, it goes beyond the traditional concept of a standalone app by integrating various functions and services, allowing users to access a wide range of features within a single application.
What’s the first app that comes to your mind?
Mine is, Grab.
From ride-hailing to food delivery, Grab is now a super-app that offers transportation, food delivery, shopping, financial services, entertainment, travel, and more. With a full suite of services under its belt, on 1 June 2023, the company further introduced its new Dine-in BETA services, offering its users dining vouchers at discounted rates!
Just days after, AirAsia also launched a dine-in feature on its travel super-app that offers travel-related services from booking of flights to accommodations, to insurance, shopping and transportation.

What Is Grab Dine-in BETA And AirAsia’s Dine-in Service?
If you’ve used Burpple, Groupon or Entertainment, you will find that Grab Dine-in BETA service is rather similar.
Offering users up to 30 per cent discount off are brands such as A-One Signature, Cedele and Sakae Sushi Group, and you can find over 100 participating merchants with this feature.
Currently, this feature is only available in Singapore, but it might make its way to other Grab markets such as Malaysia and Indonesia.
While you’re shopping for dining vouchers, you can view menus, ratings and reviews to choose a place to eat at, then book a ride to the location.
How to Use Grab’s Dine-in BETA Feature?
- Select “Food” in your Grab app and “Dine-in” under the selection menu
- While looking at nearby restaurants and brands, you will be allowed to choose your cuisine types and occasions
- Choose and purchase vouchers from over 100 participating merchants
- You can also browse merchant’s menus and read reviews
AirAsia Food’s Dine-in Service
On the contrary, the AirAsia superapp’s Dine-in service allows users to discover and book new restaurants near them, or places where they want to travel to, including Jakarta, Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Pattaya and Phuket.
This feature is in fact, powered by Eatigo, the restaurant reservation platform that offers dine-in promotions at different hours. Essentially, the discounts offered on AirAsia are time-dependent and you may get discounts of up to 50 per cent, alongside 100 AirAsia points with every reservation you make.
Yup, you can make a reservation using the AirAsia app.
We won’t know if there are plans to expand this feature in Singapore, but before that, you now have an option to dine in Malaysia at discounted rates.
It’s easy to cross the causeway with the KTM train service and if you’re planning to go in soon on a public holiday, you can consider downloading the app as there are over 600 popular and up-and-coming restaurants to choose.
The service is available in Bukit Bintang, Petaling Jaya, Kuala Lumpur, Klang/Shah Alam, Cheras/Ampang, Bangsar, Damansara, Puchong, Old Klang Road, Mont Kiara, Subang Jaya, Putrajaya/Cyberjaya/Seremban, Kepong, Genting Highlands, and Sri Petaling.

Get your auto-generated reservation code and your reservation is complete.
