Singaporean's Guide To Cost Of Hospitalisation Treatment: Which Hospital Is The Cheapest?

profileMing Feng

Is it really cheaper for Singaporeans to die than to fall sick?

We did a little bit of research on the cost of a funeral and that of medical treatment in Singapore. Turns out, an atas’ funeral can cost Singaporean up to $11,000. The cost of cancer treatment? Up to $17,000 per month.

Singapore’s Medical Cost Inflation vs The World

The rising cost of medical treatment scares the hell out of most Singaporeans.

In the year 2018, Singaporeans experienced a gross medical inflation rate of 10%. This number towers Singapore’s headline inflation of 0.4%.

With the ageing population, the demand for healthcare will be constantly on the rise. This increment in demand will drive the cost of medical treatment even higher, should the supply of healthcare fails to catch up.
