A Singaporean’s Guide To NDP 2019 Ticket Application
NDP 2019 ticket applications are OPEN!
National Day Parade 2019 Ticket Applications
The National Day Parade 2019 ticket applications are open from today (23 May 2019) to 23:59 on 2 Jun 2019!
How Do I Apply For NDP 2019 Tickets?
There are two ways to apply for your NDP 2019 tickets:
- Go to www.ndp.org.sg and select “Ticket Application”
2. AXS Station & SAM Kiosk
- Visit any AXS or SAM machine islandwide and apply for your ticket
Once you’ve applied successfully, you’ll see this:
Successful applicants will be notified via email on 24 Jun 2019.
For the collection of tickets, successful applicants will have to produce the QR code included in the email as well as original photo identification eg. driver’s license, NRIC, or student pass.
Who Is Eligible To Apply?
Ticket applications are only open to Singapore citizens and permanent residents. Eligible applicants can apply for two, four, or six tickets to:
- NDP Preview 1: 27 July 2019
- NDP Preview 2: 3 August 2019
- NDP: 9 August 2019
In case you’re wondering, yes. All three dates are Saturdays.
How Do I Increase My Chances Of Getting NDP Tickets?
Firstly, tickets are not given on a first-come-first-served basis.
You don’t have to submit your application RIGHT NOW (unless you’re reading this at 23:58 on 2 Jun 2019…)
All valid applications will go through an electronic balloting system so it’s anybody’s guess how winners are picked.
However, ticket allocation will be prioritised for Singapore Citizens and applicants who were not allocated tickets for NDP 2018.
So if you were at home last year with your ENTIRE family plus five uncles and aunts, their kids, and their grandkids… All you gotta do is convince everyone to put their names down for a ticket and get them to agree to give it to you.
After all, more people apply means more chance of getting right…
But this is really for those who simply MUST be there in person to sing along to this year’s theme song, “Our Singapore” (which draws on lyrics from 2002’s “We Will Get There” and the 2015 edition of “Our Singapore”).
Oh, each applicant is only limited to ONE application regardless of the method used to apply for the e-ballot.
This means that you can’t apply online and then try to game the system and apply via AXS. Only your latest application will count towards the e-ballot.
The only good thing about this is you can always re-apply anytime (within the valid application period) if you suddenly decide that you don’t need six tickets after all and would be happier with just two.
When And How Do I Collect The NDP Funpacks?
The NDP funpacks will be distributed to attendees during the events.
And since the entire year has been all about sustainability and eco-consciousness, you can expect the funpacks to be, as Minister for Defence Ng Eng Hen puts it, “more environmentally friendly“.
Where Is NDP 2019 Going to Be Held This Year?
NDP 2019 will be held at the Padang on 9 Aug 2019 to celebrate 54 years of independence as well as to commemorate Singapore’s bicentennial.
The Padang is where many key events in Singapore’s history were held so it’s arguably the perfect venue for this year’s national parade and ceremony where we can reflect how far we have come as a nation.
In case you didn’t know, 2019 is also the year of Singapore’s Bicentennial.
For those going, “Simi?! (Hokkien for what)”
The Singapore Bicentennial is a commemoration marking the 200th anniversary of the arrival of Sir Stamford Raffles in 1819.
So I guess, this year is also pretty special. Let’s see if there’ll be a repeat of the “simi sai also SG50″ situation…
What If I Didn’t Manage To Get Any NDP Tickets (Again…)?
Besides watching the National Day Parade from the comfort of your home, you can also participate in the heartland celebrations that are happening on 10 Aug 2019 at the following places:
- Geylang Serai
- Jurong East
There will be carnivals and firework displays at each location as well as certain segments of the actual parade’s mobile column (which involves the SAF and SCDF).
