Events For Those Who Are Into Art & Light Installations
Museum and art lovers, start marking your calendars because there’re things lined up for you!
Presented by the Singapore Art Museum (SAM), the Wayang Spaceship is an art installation you can find at the rear entrance of SAM. Throughout the day, you’ll be able to capture different facets of the artefact – be ready to face the music (literally), lights and film that will be activated after SAM closes, from 7.15pm – 7.45pm!

The National Museum of Singapore (NMS) has free admission to all galleries for all on 9 Aug 2022!
There will be an outdoor playground for families in the morning, a National Day hunt in the galleries throughout the day, activity stations, workshops, live music performances and storytelling sessions.
Be sure to soak in patriotism by catching the outdoor live telecast of the National Day Parade, as images of past parades over the years are projected on the museum’s façade.

The Singapore Night Festival is finally back after two years of hiatus!
Throughout this period, you’ll be able to immerse yourself in art and capture shots of light, projection, motion-responsive installations and performances around Bras Basah or Bugis areas.

Events For Movie Go-ers
Singaporean film director, screenwriter and film producer Anthony Chen’s film Wet Season will be screening for free at Esplanade.
If you’re a film junkie, this is a film you wouldn’t want to miss as it’s nominated for six Golden Horse awards in Taiwan where actress Yeo Yann Yann won for Best Actress.

Do note that you will need to be an Esplanade&Me member to watch this film for free!
To be a member, you will need to pay an annual fee of $50 or spend $500 on Esplanade tickets in a year.
Make your way to Sentosa’s Southside to catch free movies by the sea!
Mummies and daddies you can rejoice now because… this is a kid-friendly event where Parental Guidance-rated (PG-rated) blockbusters will be screened.
You are allowed to bring your picnic mats and folding chairs, but you won’t be able to bring your own food. But not to worry, there’ll be bites available from eateries at Southside.
On a first-come-first-serve basis, the event is limited to 400 persons. So go in early!

Events For Pet & Plant Lovers
Flora and fauna. If you’re a flower and horticulture lover, drop by the Singapore Garden Festival today!
The event is held in two locations: Orchard Road and Singapore Botanic Gardens.
You will be able to catch unique activities such as floral competitions, orchid competitions and landscape design challenges!

Hosted by Hope for Animals (HFA), the SingaPAW Weekend is the one-stop event for all things pet-related including shopping, bird demonstrations, photo and retail booths to giveaways!
Bring your dogs and join the SingaPAW Pet Walk where dog-friendly ice pops will be given for free.
For those of you who are keen to adopt a pet, there is also an adoption drive on-site and you’ll be able to meet the animals, pick up tips from pet owners and guidance from shelters.
Have always wanted to know if you have a talent for breaking records?
You can now be one as the event organisers invite you to join them in forming the number 57 marking Singapore’s Birthday at Sir Stanford Raffles in front of Victoria Concert Hall!
Participants will also receive a goodie bag voucher which is redeemable at the Yappy Pets booth (up to the first 500 or while stocks last)

Events For Entertainment & Carnival Lovers
Majulah Block Party is a curated youth festival with food pop-ups by local food vendors along with an assortment of homegrown craft beer breweries and suppliers!
Be prepared to be swooned by the likes of electro-pop singer Shye, label showcases by HVT Entertainment, Allure Records, and DreamFellas Asia.
The event will end off with themed deejay sets by popular DJ Hanif!

This is ticketed event, but it’s free! All you need to do is to apply for tickets online or go to a Community Centre that distributes the tickets.

The Singapore Sports Hub is organising the National Day Fiesta where families can bond over sporting activities, carnival games, and live telecast of the National Day Parade!
As if that’s not enough to keep you occupied, there’ll also be a fireworks display by the Stadium Riverside Walk!

Events For Red Lions Fans & Aviation Enthusiasts
As an annual tradition, the skydiving Red Lions will make an appearance!
You will be able to catch them at the following sites:
- The open field next to Junction 8 in Bishan, 8.40am to 9.30am
- Open field along North Buona Vista Road, near Ghim Moh Food Market, 9.10am to 10am
For aviation enthusiasts, be sure to catch the Republic of Singapore Air Force’s aircraft flying across Singapore on National Day!
The state flag will also be flown across Singapore from 5.25 to 6.15p.m by two Chinook helicopters, each accompanied by two Apache assault helicopters.
The western route that will be covered includes Bukit Panjang, Bukit Timah, Kranji, Choa Chu Kang, Jurong and West Coast.
Similarly, the eastern route will cover areas such as Khatib, Sengkang, Punggol, Bedok, Pasir Ris, Changi and East Coast.
As if that’s not enough, six F-16 fighter jets will also fly across the country in a delta formation from 5.50pm to 6.15p.m!
