Online Must Buys from the USA

Efficient online shopping is a skill everyone should be equipped with. But what about going up another level? Shopping online from Overseas, in this case, the USA. Sure, there are sites like ASOS & Urban Outfitters, but this post is all about hunting good deals from shops that don’t ship to Singapore.  No worries, we’ll teach you how to bring them into Singapore at the end of this post. Meanwhile, here are 10 types of things you must get from the USA.

Note:

  • We use an exchange rate of USD 1 = SGD 1.43 for all items
  • If the currency was not stated before the $ sign, you can safely assume it’s in Singapore Dollars
  • Items listed below are purely examples to give you an idea of what good deals you can find under that category (we don’t receive any commission if you decide to purchase them)
  • You will see a bracket that looks like (esc. $XX). That is the estimated shipping cost to Singapore, but more on that at the end of this article!

Adidas Men’s Originals – Gazelle Shoes (esc. $12)

Sign up for their newsletter and get a 15% off your first order! Which means this pair of shoes could cost only $97.30 which will save you $41.70. Say whaaat?!

Sneakers shopping tip: If you have pretty small feet (say, under US6/EUR40), consider looking at the Kids version of the same shoe. For example, a pair of Gazelle shoes in the Kids section costs USD65 which equates to SGD79 after conversion charges & 15% coupon. It’s the same model, and you get to save over 50 bucks!

Footlocker.com is a site I frequent for good deals on shoes from brands such as Nike, Adidas, New Balance and Timberland. They tend to have promo codes that’ll get you 15% off so be sure to perform a quick google search before you check out!

  1. Dress shirts (esc. $5)

Every man needs to invest in a good dress shirt. You never know when a big event might come up unexpectedly. Here’s are some dress shirts on sale:

  1. Snaaaaacks (esc. depends on the weight)

Here’s a bunch of snacks you cannot find in Singapore (even if you do find it, chances are it’s going to be rather pricey).

And that concludes this short summarised list of what you should get from the USA!

Now you must be wondering – won’t it cost a bomb to ship things over from the USA? Well, here’s where I touch on what (esc. $XX) means and introduce the existence of shipping forwarders to you. ESC stands for “Estimated Shipping Cost.” It’s a term I coined so don’t go using it on others! As most of these sites do not ship to Singapore, you will have to send your orders to a USA Address. The ESC is the cost of shipping your products from the USA to Singapore.

ezbuy

I’m sure you’ve heard of shipping services like VPost or ComGateway. They’re great, but my personal favourite is EZBuy. (Disclaimer: We are by no way affiliated with EZBuy nor is this a paid endorsement. I just really enjoy their low prices.) If EZBuy sounds like a familiar name, that’s because they’re known for being a Taobao Agent. Their shipping rates are $3.99 for every 500 grams and parcels typically take about a week to reach Singapore. I don’t know about you, but it sounds like a pretty good deal to me! You can read up on how to use their service here: https://ezbuy.sg/USA/ShipForMe
