With the casinos at war for Singaporeans’ money, we did a comparison between their membership system to find out which is more worth it.
Singaporeans and Permanent Residents of Singapore have to pay an entry levy to enter either of the casinos. The two types of entry levy are day levy at $100 or an annual levy at $2,000.
We take a look at how much a Singaporean needs to spend to hit the highest tier for his membership.
The assumptions are:
- He embarks on an annual levy to help him achieve his highest tier for his membership.
- He aims to hit the highest tier of GoldPlus for his casino membership
- He visits Genting Resort World Singapore to gamble and collects points.
We are using Genting Resort World Singapore(RWS) as an example.
Here’s how much a Singaporean needs to spend at the casino to hit various tier for his or her Genting membership.

- The above chart shows that a Singaporean needs to spend $99,400 a year to up his membership tier to GoldPlus.
- For RWS, every RM100 spend, you will earn 1 Genting Point and 1 Tier Point.
- Each Genting Point can redeem $1 worth of purchase at any of the participating outlets.
- The tier point has no monetary value, and it is only to help member move up the tier.
Here’s how much it will cost him per year to reach GoldPlus:

- Assuming the gambler only gambles at the blackjack table where the odds of winning is the highest, compared to the rest of the games.
- At 44% winning rate, assuming the gambler managed to recoup 44% of his gambling money.
- He will also receive $3,000 worth of Genting Points which is equivalent of $1 at participating outlets.
Final Costs To Attain Membership At RWS Casino
The final cost of a GoldPlus member is at $54,664.
That works out to be gambling $4,555 per month! While it comes with benefits, we are not sure if it’s worth the money.
The Other Benefits For Sands Rewards Membership At Marina Bay Sands

They have two different loyalty programs, namely Sands Rewards Lifestyle and Sands Rewards Club.
The Sands Rewards Club is mainly targetted at the Casino spenders, gamers.
Sands Rewards Club (Casino gamers) Tiers, Benefits and Requirements
Sands Rewards Club members earn Sands Points and Sands Dollar on their Casino spends. When you gamble at the Casino, the amount spent (excluding levy) will be converted into Sands Points.
These Points will then be converted into Sands Dollar which can be used to redeem free games or goods and services at Marina Bay Sands.
How much do you need to spend to get these rewards for Sands Rewards Club?
The Sands Rewards Club comes in 5 different tiers. Here’s how much you need to spend to qualify for each tier.

The rate of accrual of Sands Points and Sands Dollars may vary from member to member. The rate of accrual of Sands Points and Sands Dollars shall be determined at the sole and absolute discretion of Marina Bay Sands. This is also why Seedly was not able to find out the exact amount one needs to spend to get to Sands Diamond member.
