Best Sour and Spicy Noodles/ Suan La Fen Brands Available in Singapore
Warning: Do not scroll past here if you are feeling hungry right now!
Bai Jia Chen Ji Sour and Spicy Vermicelli
Currently only available on Lazada, Bai Jia Chen Ji instant vermicelli comes in only one flavour.
It is said to stimulate your taste nerve and you cannot forget it once you try it.
Chen Cun Chong Qing Suan La Fen
Based on reviews, Chen Cun Chong Qing Suan La Fen is sourer and less spicy as compared to the Hai Chi Jia. It makes a good supper option.
Da Wei Wang Suan La Fen
A brand endorsed by a veteran Hong Kong actor, Da Wei Wang is one of the halal spicy noodle options out there.
Guangyou Instant Noodle
This brand recently received a verdict on Straits Times, saying that it smells good, but it doesn’t taste as good. Ultimately, as a fan of Mala spicy noodle, I will still give it a try before making a decision.
Hai Chi Jia Suan La Fen
Hai Chi Jia Suan La Fen is probably the brand that kick-started the craze for spicy vermicelli noodle locally. Probably still one of the most popular option till date judging by the number of listings online.
They have recently updated their packaging. Something you might wish to take note of when purchasing it.
Hai Di Lao Suan La Fen
When it comes to anything Mala, expect Hai Di Lao to have a product on it.
It also comes in a few flavours for you to choose from, mainly sour spicy beef belly, tomato beef and Mala.
Hei Ren Bu Luo Guang Dong Mala Oden
Hei Ren Bu Luo’s Mala Oden combines the best of both worlds. We thought that this is a genius idea, now that we no longer have to grab our own ingredient to go with our spicy vermicelli.
Jia Xiang Ren C Wei
Based on some of the reviews, Jia Xiang Ren C Wei cup noodles are delicious. However, the portion can be quite big and it is recommended to share it with someone.
It comes in three flavours, namely sour spicy, clams and beef la mian.
Mo Xiao Xian Hot and Sour Noodles
Mo Xiao Xian is an award-winning brand which is definitely worth for a try.
Each cup is filled with individually packed ingredients such as seasoning powders, vinegar and mala sauce.
Shi Zu Ren
Shi Zuren Instant Cup Noodle Vermicelli is characterized by the use of chillies, garlic and peppercorn which gives it a bold, pungent, spicy flavour. A bowl of perfectly al dente glass noodle topped with chillies, drenched in a hot Szechuan soup that is guaranteed to get your taste-buds tingling with anticipation!
Tan Xiao Ai Spicy and Sour Potato Noodle
It is said that Tan Xiao Ai is as good or probably better than Hai Chi Jia noodle. The noodle is said to be smooth and chewy as compared to its competitors.
I guess we will never know until we try it.
Wei Da Da
Wei Da Da is under the same brand as Hai Chi Jia. We wonder if it tastes as good as the original Hai Chi Jia hot and sour noodle.
Xiao Yang
If you are a fan of sour spicy fish, Xiao Yang offers that flavour on top of their usual hot and spicy and clam flavour.
Xiao Yang hot and spicy noodle also comes with a yoghurt drink for those who cannot take spicy that well.
Yu Zhen
Yu Zhen is said to have won various awards for their hot pot brand in China. They believe in delivering the true flavour of Chong Qing in their noodle.
