If you’re in the market for a Housing and Development Board (HDB) Build to Order (BTO) flat after missing the December 2023 BTO launch, you’re in luck. This is because the February 2024 HDB BTO launch lineup includes Queenstown at the famed Tanglin Halt Road – a mature estate which is a no-brainer for couples doing the “Ai BTO mai” tango.

There are also BTOs in Bedok, Choa Chu Kang, Hougang, Punggol and Woodlands, which may become more attractive as construction on the RTS Link linking Singapore and Johor Bahru is estimated to be completed by the end of 2026:

If you lie firmly on the east side best side camp, you’re in luck, as HDB is launching not one but two BTO projects in Bedok with a total of 961 two-room flexi, four and five-room flats on offer.

The first Bedok HDB BTO Feb 2024 site will have 528 units of 2-room Flexi and 4-room flats and is located along Upper Changi  Road right next to Bedok Green Primary School.

The location is somewhat decent as the nearest Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station is Bedok MRT, a 15-minute walk away. Granted, that is not very near, but the good news is that the walk is mostly a straight path with many buses bringing you to the MRT. However, if you are a light sleeper, you might want to pick a unit on a higher floor, as the BTO site is next to the MRT tracks.

For drivers, the nearest highway is the PIE.

Regarding amenities, the BTO project is a stone’s throw away from Marketplace @ 58, which has a whole host of food places, supermarkets, convenience stores and the stores you can find in the heartlands. Plus, Bedok South Market and Food Centre is a walkable distance away.

If you travel a bit further North, you’ll arrive at the second Bedok site, which will have 433 2-room Flexi, 4-room and 5-room flats along Bedok North Avenue 3 and right next to the PIE. So, if you are sensitive to noise take note as this project is quite close to the highway.

The location is somewhat decent as the nearest Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station is Bedok Reservoir MRT, which is a short 8-minute walk away. For drivers, the PIE is just a stone’s throw away.

Regarding connectivity, the nearest LRT is Senja LRT, which is 15 minutes away. Bukit Panjang MRT on the North-South line is slightly further. But, I am guessing that it makes more sense to just walk to Bukit Panjang MRT as it is more convenient. For drivers, the KJE is nearby.

The flats enjoy unobstructed waterfront views, courtesy of the Sungei Pang Sua canal running alongside them, and are conveniently located near the Pang Sua and Bukit Panjang Park Connectors. The project is located along Hougang Avenue 1 and the future Hougang Avenue Road.

Regarding connectivity, the MRT is Bartley, a 22-minute walk away and hardly within walking distance. For drivers, the nearest highway is the KPE.

Regarding amenities, this BTO project is not the best as there are only a handful of minimarts and coffee shops but not many shopping or entertainment options nearby. However, you get some decent food options at the Tai Seng industrial park which is open to the public.

But for your shopping needs, you’ll have to hop over to Serangoon’s NEX, which is quite a distance away.

This BTO project is one for the future, located near Paya Lebar Airbase. Come 203, the airbase will be shifted, and the whole area will be redeveloped by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), which plans to transform the area into a new hub.

If you enjoy nature and want to get away from it all, you might want to consider the Punggol HDB Feb 2024 BTO project with 960 2-room Flexi, 3-room, 4-room, and 5-room flats on offer.

This project is located right at the end of Sumang Lane and next to the TPE, which means you will have to contend with the traffic noise.

Unfortunately, this place is a bit ulu (Malay: remote or deserted), as Punggol MRT is a good 27-minute walk away. Even the nearest LRT, Soo Teck, is a good 18-minute walk away.

Amenities are currently lacking as the surrounding areas are still under construction. However, residents can currently take advantage of amenities in the nearby Sengkang area, including the Sengkang ActiveSG Sports Centre, Sengkang Swimming Complex, and Sengkang Riverside Park, all within walking distance.

But all is not lost, as this project has a picturesque waterfront setting. Future residents will be able to enjoy scenic views of Punggol Reservoir, along with the adjacent park connector running alongside the apartment buildings.

This project lies at the intersection of Woodgrove Avenue and Rosewood Drive, with the SLE nearby. In terms of connectivity, the project lies in the middle of Woodlands and Woodlands South MRT stations, which are about a 16-minute walk away.

While the area might not be amenity-rich, it is reasonably convenient. The proximity of The Woodgrove offers some convenience, along with an NTUC FairPrice and numerous dining choices. The primary appeal lies in the sparse development of landed areas in the vicinity (opposite Woodgrove Avenue) and the lush greenery of Mandai’s jungle visible across the expressway.

Also, when the RTS link is completed in 2026, getting to Johor Bahru might be convenient.
